Hi guys!!
I’m over the moon about taking over The Registry’s blog today! I’m Kathryn Rooker, the brain [and face] behind Kathryn-isms.com. It’s a pretty crazy time for me right now, my wedding is literally this weekend. So when The Registry reached out about sharing my two cents on the wedding planning process, I was so excited and thought what perfect timing. As I was deciding what I would share with you guys, the first thing that came to my mind was shopping [if you know me at all, you totally get it]. Zach and I got engaged during Thanksgiving of 2017, so I’ve been planning this shindig for about seven months now. And I have to admit, shopping for my registry items was on of my favorite parts of this whole journey. Of course the dress, the flowers, the venue are all obviously super important! But registering for the things that will complete our new home is not something to overlook!
Tips for stocking your home
- use The Registry’s checklist! They have seriously covered everything you will need!
- you may want to take someone with you! It can be overwhelming and having a second opinion can really help!
- don’t forget the essentials. It’s so fun shopping for the home, but it’s super easy to get wrapped up in all the beautiful and lavish pieces and forget about the simple items that you will most definitely need!
- and last but certainly not least, this is the biggie! Whether you are a bride that wants to be fully involved or the bride that wants someone else to make every decision, remember to enjoy it. Being engaged is one of the most special times in your life and it goes by so quick. Don’t sweat the small things and enjoy every moment.
Where I Registered at
I decided to register at places in both Columbus and Jackson so it would be easier on our friends and family. I registered at 1 Target 2 Belk 3 Anthropologie 4 Pizazz in Columbus 6 Park Place Boutique in Columbus, and 7 Persnickety in Madison. I have a lot of family in Brookhaven so I also registered at 8 Engravables and 9 We Frame It in Brookhaven. It’s always best to try and have a convenient shop near all of your family and guests!
